Our Story

Welcome to North Wind Aviation, farmers flying for farmers in Washington State. Founded in 2012, North Wind Aviation was developed from the ground up by Pilot Ryan McDonald, the son of a cherry farmer. He started out drying cherries for his dad and now he is applying pollen, drying cherries, spraying orchards, and row crop for the state of Washington and Northern Oregon. North Wind has four base areas of operation: Chelan, Zillah, Basin City, and Oregon and a fleet of Jet Rangers and ground crew to take care of any size orchard or crop. Our crew understands the importance of aerial application and quick service to the farmer, ready to go before the first drop of rain.
